Cocoa Butter: A fast absorbing pure butter from the cacao bean that's rich in antioxidants and skin-protecting properties. Natural emollient for dry, stressed skin. Has a delicious chocolatey smell.
Kokum Butter: Kokum butter is a very firm plant-derived butter from the seeds of the Garcinia Indica fruit. It is a beautiful non-greasy emollient that absorbs fast.
Tamanu Oil: Tamanu oil is a liquid carrier oil pressed from the seeds of the tamanu tree from South East Asia. A well-researched anti-inflammatory that aids in diminishing pregnancy stretch marks, scarring, rashes, minor burns, acne, psoriasis and eczema. It has a nutty woodsy scent and a darker color.
Rosehips Seed Oil: Rosehip oil is also known as rosehip seed oil. It’s derived from the rosa canina rose bush, which is grown mostly in Chile.Unlike rose oil, which is extracted from rose petals, rosehip oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds of the rose plant. Prized since ancient times for its valuable healing benefits, rosehip oil is loaded with skin nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. It is known to hydrate, moisturize, exfoliate and brighten skin, helps boost collagen formation, helps reduce inflammation, protect against sun damage, helps ruduce hyperpigmentation, helps reduce scars ad fine lines. What a powerhouse!
Shea Butter: Shea butter is a rich, thick, soft butter made from the seed of the shea fruit. Most shea butter we use is from Ghana or Burkina Faso. It brings great staying power and creaminess to formulations and is fantastic for dry skin. Shea butter is a great moisturizer, especially for irritated skin.
Babassu Oil: Babassu oil is a soft carrier oil from the kernels of the Babassu palm that grows in Brazil. It is fast-melting with a thin, silky skin feel and good slip, excellent for massaging into your baby bump!
St John's Wort Oil: The flowers from the St. John's Wort is infused in certified organic olive oil. It is rich in flavonoids which are famous for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. That is what makes it so good at helping heal and repair the skin. The oil used in this formulation is wildcrafted in the foothills of Northern California, harvested in June when each Yellow Flower is Full of Red Oil.
Carrot Seed Oil: Cold pressed carrot seed oil is cold pressed from the carrot seeds, and it's used in cosmetics for anti-aging properties in skin care. Carrot seed oil has shown antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.
Cetyl Alcohol: A fatty alcohol that is an emollient, adds body, improves slip and adds a silky feel. Despite having “alcohol” in the name, cetyl alcohol is not drying or irritating to the skin as it is not “that kind” of alcohol. The alcohols people typically worry about in skin care products are volatile liquid alcohols like ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. Cetyl alcohol is very different!
Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant and beneficial skincare ingredient, helping protect the skin from environmental damage. Helps extend the shelf life of our products by delaying the onset of rancidity.
